A curated art exhibition showcasing artists of the African Diaspora, honoring the power of art and culture through the voices of Houston-based creators in celebration of Juneteenth.

Rooted in the historical significance of Juneteenth. The day the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of their freedom. This exhibition reflects on liberation, resilience, while celebrating the creativity of a free and ever evolving generation. It serves as both a commemoration and a call to remember, recognize, and uplift the enduring impact of Black history and culture.

Through a diverse range of visual expressions, this body of work:

• Preserves history
• Centers the Black experience
• Celebrates the fullness of life
• Inspires reflection and dialogue

By amplifying the voices of local Houston artists, the exhibition creates space for storytelling, reflection, and community connection.

Application / Eligibility Requirements: 

• Open to artist, 18 or older of African diaspora
• Works created through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) are not eligible. 
• Submitted works must be original
• All artwork exhibited must be professional and suitable for art in public spaces.
• Two-dimensional works must be prepared for hanging.
• Three-dimensional works welcome and accompanied by its own pedestal unless size fits our display. 3-D works to be displayed on a wall must be suitably prepared for hanging.

Art files must be labeled as follows or will not be considered… name_title_size

Artist may submit up to three works.
