Blue Prolific Studios Art Gallery houses the Art of our founder and award winning Artist La’Toya Smith in addition to multiple exceptionally established professional Artists of Texas and further. The Gallery maintains a collection of Realism, abstract, and mix media works. The studio also curates periodic yearly exhibits aligning with different visions or themes. History shapes the present, and the present continuously molds the future. Culture becomes a binding force—an affirmation of a community’s identity and an anchor that keeps our stories alive. Black history is American history, a driving force behind the establishment of rights, cultural transformation, and societal progress that extends far beyond any single race or community.
To truly understand who we are and where we come from, we must be willing to look back. The past is not something to fear, dismiss, or conceal. It is something to acknowledge, embrace, and uplift—because within it lies the foundation of our collective becoming.

Gallery Curator/Founder
Artist and founder La’Toya Smith AKA LaToyaCreates. Houston based Artist; La’Toya Smith has been honing her skills in Art for several years. Beginning her passion for Oil painting at age 11. LaToya blended her painting skills with sketching, then murals, tattoos, photography, and a BA in Graphic & Web Design making the perfect blend for raw creation in every project. From the start constant traveling as a military family born in Europe caused a natural adaption and inspiration from people. Raw emotion, diversity, and identity is La’Toya’s inspiration and favorite subject.
La’Toya has become an award winning artist and exhibitionist in multiple States while diving into multiple ventures in the creative industry. Since residing in Houston Tx a few of her achievements include being honored at TSU 2017 African American Artist Exhibition, Co-Artist of the 2018 Astros home run alley mural, published illustrator, one of Lawndale’s 2021 Big Show Award winners, and the 2022 City Wide African American Artist Exhibition Juror’s choice Award. As well as creating the Prolific Expo and Founded Blue Prolific Studios is 2018.
